Career Opportunities at Bates Mechanical:
Jobs Available NOW
Are you interested in working for Bates Mechanical? If so, here’s a brief introduction to our company and what we have to offer to employees:
First and foremost, Bates Mechanical is a very employee-oriented company. In fact, we think of our employees and their families as part of our own family. Those aren’t just platitudes. Bates Mechanical is the kind of place where people truly love their jobs. We actually enjoy working together! Even after work hours, you may find us spending more time together at company outings or just informal socializing. There is a camaraderie here at Bates Mechanical that you don’t always see in many businesses today.
We typically maintain a full-time workforce of 40 to 45 people, depending on our workload at the time. Our staff is very dedicated to what they do and are in it “for the long haul.” The average employee has 10 or more years of service with our company.
- Master plumbers
- Journeyman plumbers
- Medical gas installers and brazers
- Excavation specialists
We know that without good people working for us, we are nothing. It for this reason we always want to talk to potential employees who are passionate about using their plumbing skills for this company, and want to continually learn more and improve their expertise.
Some specific requirements that we look for in potential employees include:
- Solid work ethic
- Professional customer service skills
- A strong desire to learn, grow, and succeed in the plumbing trade
The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
- A valid plumbing license (tradesman, journeyman, or master plumber)
- A boiler class 3 certification
- OSHA 10 training certification
Unfortunately, a trend that we have been seeing in our industry is increasing problems due to the lack of skilled plumbing professionals. This is why we strive to be a company that stands out and is different in terms of how we operate. We want to be the plumbing contractor businesses call when they need a plumbing installation.
We want to be the ones people contact when they are looking for plumbers they can count on to do the job right. To be this kind of company, we have to have a professional, well-trained, and hard-working staff.
In order to attract talented individuals and keep them on our staff, it is important to operate as a team, to treat fellow employees with the utmost respect, and to be a great place to work. We have put in place a benefits package which we believe will not only attract skilled employees, but will also allow them to better themselves as well as their families. Our extremely competitive benefit package includes:
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Health insurance and dental plan
- Life insurance
- Long-term and short-term disability
- Paid national holidays
- Paid vacation and personal days off
- Company profit sharing program
